Home and Family at Bedford Congress Hall Over 60s
Recognising that our population is now ageing The Salvation Army provides an avenue of continuous service and participation for people who have reached what is now called the "third age".
In this definition the "first age" is the age of learning, the "second age" is the age of working and the "third age" is the age of living.
Every Tuesday at 1.50pm the Bedford Congress Hall "third age" meets to share in times of mutual enjoyment, friendship and fellowship.
Additionally, it is a time when we can grow spiritually and experience a growing personal relationship with God.
There are times when we are educated and entertained through increasing skills and gain knowledge in many areas through the visits of various guest speakers, groups, choirs and instrumental ensembles...and periodically we have various outings to places of interest as well as seaside resorts.
During the year we will have a very special "Over 60's" weekend when members of the group will take a leading part in the meetings throughout the weekend.
You don't have to be a "dyed-in-the-wool" Salvationist to attend...like all Salvation Army meetings it's open to all...give it a try; you never know you might enjoy it! But one thing's for sure...you'll get a warm welcome.
