Who comes to Me, the Saviour said,
To them I freely give
Eternal life; though they were dead
Yet henceforth shall they live.
Their life shall be with gladness filled,
Their treasure is on high,
Bright sunshine shall their pathway gild
And they shall never die.

The Saviour now will give
The Saviour now will give,
Eternal life to all who seek,
The Saviour now will give.

Who comes to Me, the Saviour said,
And follows where I lead,
Shall see My light upon them shed
And in My pastures feed.
No more shall darkness cloud their way,
My love their fear shall quell,
The gloom that once obscured their day
My presence shall dispel.

Gordon Taylor, in his Companion to The Song Book of The Salvation Army, tells us that the words of this song, number 277 in The Salvation Army songbook, were written by William Kitching, a schoolmaster and a member of the Society of Friends (Quakers) who lived between 1837 and 1906. The music was composed by a youthful Wilfred Kitching who later became the seventh General of The Salvation Army between 1954 - 1963.
